First in West Bengal! Tata launched solar power project in the state, 15 lakh units of electricity will be produced

Tata Group (Tata Group) took a new big step in Bengal (West Bengal) by ending the wait. Everyone was surprised to see that. Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) on Monday announced that it has launched a 1000 KW bifacial solar system project (Solar Power) in West Bengal.

Bifacial solar systems have solar panels that capture sunlight from both surfaces and generate energy from both sides. A Tata Power Company statement said, "TPREL has successfully commissioned a pioneering 1040 KW Bifacial Solar System project with Chengmari Tea Estate. This is the first installation of bifacial modules in eastern India.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) is a subsidiary of Tata Power, one of India's leading integrated power companies. It has repeatedly focused on the development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects, including solar and wind power.

The project is expected to generate about 1.5 million units (MU) of energy annually and reduce the carbon footprint by 29,420 lakh tonnes, which is equivalent to planting 47,000 teak trees. Deepesh Nanda, MD & CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited gave more information on this matter. Addressing the media, he said, “The innovative bifacial technology, capturing sunlight from both sides of the solar panel, represents a significant advance in enhanced clean energy generation. We are proud to be at the forefront of this revolution, pushing the boundaries of technological excellence and environmental management. With this addition, the total renewable capacity of TPREL has reached 9012 MW.”
