Israel-Gaza Aid Blockade Sparks Humanitarian Crisis

Israel has imposed a complete blockade on humanitarian aid entering Gaza since March 2, 2025, in an effort to pressure Hamas into extending the first phase of a ceasefire agreement. This decision has sparked widespread criticism from humanitarian organizations and international bodies as it exacerbates the already dire living conditions for Gaza's 2 million residents.

Humanitarian Impact: The blockade has halted the supply of essential items like food, fuel, and medicine. Water desalination plants serving 70% of Gaza’s population have ceased operations due to a lack of electricity, leaving residents without access to clean drinking water

Ceasefire Stalemate: The first phase of the ceasefire ended on March 1, with Israel demanding Hamas release more hostages in exchange for aid and military withdrawal. Hamas has accused Israel of using aid as a "bargaining chip" and violating international humanitarian law.

International Reaction: Organizations like Oxfam and Human Rights Watch have condemned the blockade as collective punishment and a breach of international law. European nations have also raised concerns about potential violations of humanitarian principles.
